Almond Tart

Ingredients:

  • 6 ounces butter
  • 1 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon almond extract
  • 1 1/2 cup all purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup of sliced raw almonds
  • confectioners’ sugar to sprinkle

Preparation:
Preheat oven to 350ºF. Grease and flour a 9 inch tart pan. Melt butter in a small saucepan. Mix butter and sugar on medium with electric mixer. Add eggs one at a time, and mix until pale yellow. Add almond extract.

Stir in flour and salt. Spread batter evenly in to tart pan and sprinkle with sugar and then almonds. Bake for 25 minutes or until golden brown.

Remove the tart from the oven and dust with confectioners’ sugar.
